Access Apprenticeships

aim high

If you are aged 16-24, then an Access Apprenticeship could be just what you are looking for.

Apprenticeships are designed to help you learn on the job, developing your practical skills and abilities and helping you become the best at what you do.

If you are already employed, then we can help you get qualifications under your belt while you continue to earn, putting yourself in an excellent position to develop your career. We are happy to discuss your aspirations with your employer.

If you are not currently employed, then we can interview you, match your details with suitable vacancies we have available, and put you forward for interview with our employers. You will be employed from day one in a real job, on real wages, and gain a range of qualifications.

Equality and Diversity

"Access Training has been very effective in arranging for learners to gain employment or change employers when needed."

"Staff pay good attention to all learners' needs. Good initial advice and guidance ensures that learners understand their job and employment requirements."
Ofsted, July 2007

"The programme worked with my strengths and developed my weaknesses. I have just completed my level 3 and hope to go on to level 4."

WHAT MAKES ACCESS APPRENTICESHIPS DIFFERENT?

  • We offer first class support. We hold the Matrix Standard for information advice and guidance.
  • We offer progression. Many of our learners go on to compelte second and third qualifications with us. Alongside their qualifications, many are promoted, moving onwards and upwards in their career too.
  • We offer quality. We are an award-winning organisation, graded 'good' by Ofsted in all occupational areas and with achievement rates continually above national averages.

Matrix

Access has recently been awarded the matrix accreditation for the quality and effective delivery of information, advice and guidance to learners.

The matrix Standard is a unique quality framework of eight elements which were assessed during one-to-one interviews with learners and staff and the examination of documentation and literature used by the company to advise learners and employers about our services.

Feedback from the assessment day included the following strengths:

  • Learners are supported well by committed staff who, it is felt, are accessible and approachable. Contact by email, phone and company visits, support profession and achievement.

  • Staff are professional and passionate in their approach, keen to deliver a learner centred approach. Ongoing training of staff supports the development of individuals and allows for continuous improvement.

  • Learners and employers felt the staff to be supportive, providing choice and encouragement through the delivery of a customer led service.

  • Partners were happy with the relationship they had with the company. There was a feeling that the company was willing to share good practice and respond to changes.

I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at Access for all the hellp, support and encouragement I have received throughout my 3 programmes. I have now been promoted to a higher level within my organisation as a result of my achievements and developed skills. Thank you.

Access Training couldn't be more helpful. When I was made redundant from my first apprenticeship, they found a new job for me within 12 hours.
Their training has proved to be beneficial; their encouragement and support has truly been appreciated.

I would like to say a big thank you to my trainer Yvonne for all the effort, support, hard work and time she has put into my training.
The training i have recieved has helped me in every aspect of my job, without it i do not think i would have as much confidence and i do not think i would be as sucessful in my job. Thank you to everyone at Access.

I thoroughly enjoyed doing my Key Skills with Access, My trainer was brilliant and i loved the people in my group which made it easier to learn. All in all I had a brilliant time and learnt alot!

I have just attended Access for Key Skills (application of number). Yvonne was very helpful and always had time for us. My IT skills and numerancy skills are much improved and I've met a great group of friends. I could reccomened it to any one!!

A really big thank you to Access for helping get me through my Key Skills portfolio especially Yvonne I couldn't of done my Application of Number without your help and I have really enjoyed the sessions at Gateshead Skills Academy!

My manager and I both agree it is so refreshing it is to be working with someone so genuinely interested and supportive in my education.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Access and Lorraine Robinson!

I have recently completed my Business Administration Apprenticeship NVQ Level 2. I would like to thank Lorraine Robinson for all her help and support throughout my apprenticeship, Lorraine was always willing to help me with any problem she was brilliant. I would reccomend access to anyone. Thank You to everyone.

I would like other young people to know that I left school with 'reasonable' GCSEs but I have now completed an Apprenticeship in Admin, an Advanced Apprenticeship in Admin and an Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service with Access. The Access team have given me so much self-confidence and the ability to work at an advanced level. I am so happy I went to Access!
